JST aka Jodie Sweetin Trio releases their debut EP titled Funshot. Born in the creative minds of Rich Florey, Ryan Beck and John Marque, this collection of songs present straight ahead Saloon Thrash that teeters between Hard Rock and Western genres. From the opening track "Exorcizing Voices," the rim shots soon explode into distorted vocals that house just as much grit as the dirty electric tones. Middle lane guitar solos drive head on into "Mudified" and fuzzed out bass lines, wrecking like the skateboard anthems these songs embody. Soon enough the title track "Funshot" draws from its holster a new sound of western fused rock that catches fire and rides off as fast as the Laramie Kid. The album single "Turned Punk" is a local underdog rant of mischief and neglect. How one will "React or Respond" to this album is as varied as its influences. All and all this "Act of Revenge" will settle into the ears of the wanted and bring forth the angst and rebellion needed to pull the trigger. Though always loaded, Funshot makes its way to the dusty jukebox fully cohesive and well played.
