简介
“Forget the glam, forget the emo, forget the pop. They don’t have the nerve to be absurd,” says Lane Steele, vocalist for the Los Angeles-based groove metal band, Kauze. “We are a project that breathes for poetry and that loves the self-proclaimed title of the black sheep of metal. It’s pretty simple: Kauze is the reason for an action and that’s what this project represents. We are the voice for people who don’t have a voice or choose not to use it all the people of the world who want to speak out for themselves for justice, for vengeance, for love and for hate, this project is something that all people can connect with because we all have something to say, so let it be heard.” Holding the torch for the future of groove metal, Kauze (formed in Hollywood, Ca, in late 2005) mixes and molds thought provoking lyrics over pulse-pounding riffs and grooves. “In our music we not only pay homage to new and old school metal acts, we also find a great deal of inspiration in the beat poets”. This project is a culmination of a wide range of experiences; from the everyday to the extraordinary.” With the release of Waiting for the Punch released in 2006 Produced by Lane Steele and Doug Kern, Kauze has received a significant amount of exposure and feedback, Including radio play on numerous indie and college radio stations of their single “Where Memories Hide”. “Waiting For The Punch” has also recently got reviewed in Music Connection they have also done an interview for 217 magazine and received a sponsorship from One Mountain Clothing. Waiting for the Punch is a rollercoaster of emotions from the in your face grooves of “Trial” to the mysterious melody of “Where Memories Hide” to the politically driven assault “Proud To Know Nothing”. With their new release, Kauze has maintained its goal of challenging the norm and making people think by questioning authority and analyzing human thought and behavior. Currently the band is selling the release at shows and on www.cdbaby.com additionally the band is planning a west coast tour for summer of 2007 to support the release as well as the band has already embarked on pre production of the full-length release entitled “Epiphany” due out in late 2007. “Think outside the box. That’s the message of Kauze. We don’t adhere to the ‘core’ genre.” Ushering in a new generation of metal, this project is not bound by style or tact. Its creativity and ability to motivate audiences has proved that this band has “the nerve to be absurd”.
