The music of the 1970s folk mass "plugged in" and recast. Acoustic guitars, ukuleles and tambourines give way to synths, amps, beats and horns. These tunes were the mainstay hymns at the 11:15 a.m. church service during my childhood. Forty years later, this record reinterprets them in an updated musical vocabulary.
