This album has been in the making since June 2013, but the songs go back even further. Deify consists of three brothers; Duncan, Erik, and Jared, who started the band over five years ago. In that time, they've written over 100 songs together and have played countless shows throughout the Northwest. The boys decided that, with the plethora of material at their fingertips, it was time for a full LP. After a few months of searching for a studio to record at, they came to the consensus that it would be cost effective to record the album independently in the sanctuary of their own home. "Between the Lines" was recorded in the basement of their house with a four track interface, ProTools on a desktop, two $20 practice microphones, and the instruments they use to play their shows (2 electric guitars, an acoustic guitar, 2 basses, and 1 drum set). The initial recording process lasted about 4 months, with an additional recording session in December to add "Outta My League" to the album. Throughout January, February, and March, Duncan mixed the tracks in his free time while balancing his time at work and as a student at the University of Oregon. The finished product is what you hear, here. "Between the Lines" is a 11 track, 54 minute album encompassing the best Deify has had to offer over the past five years. All that's left is for you to pick up a copy and rock out.
