Russian-born pianist Alexander Karpeyev has been a major prizewinner in international competitions, including first prizes at the 2007 Dudley International Piano Competition, the Norah Sande Award 2008 and Oxford Music Festival’s recital competition. He is a graduate of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, Guildhall School of Music and Drama and City University of London, where his doctoral thesis was on Medtner’s performance practice. Alexander has given recitals in major UK venues and abroad. Dr. Karpeyev originally performed this programme at Kings Place, London, on February 13, 2017 to mark the centenary of the Russian Revolution.
