J.BULLY aka BULLYCITY bka FL “Robi” Roberts, is an emcee/producer/songwriter from Raleigh NC living in Durham NC. Bully has enjoyed a timeless career that just won’t stop. From Atlanta to Detroit and back to NC, Bully has done some of everything: including stints on Billboard, an appearance on BET’s 106 & Park, and numerous accolades as a nationally competitive battle rapper. Over the last 10 years, Bully has become a young OG on the hip-hop music scene in Raleigh-Durham: performing on almost every stage, hosting an old-school hip-hop radio show on WXDU in Durham, and literally paving the road to teaching hip-hop on the collegiate level. Bully was one of the first “Hip-Hop Professors,” and is teaching his self-designed course “Hip-Hop/Rap Music Appreciation” for the 12th year in the Duke University Department of Music. His uber-popular, one of a kind class teaches students about hip-hop culture through the music, and ultimately teaches laymen how to rap and write hip-hop songs, making it the first course of it’s kind where students record their own creations with the professor – an accomplished recording artist... With two albums, many classic mixtapes and other street albums and collaborations with some of the best producers in the business under his belt, Bully is still ever-evolving. Most recently, he has added music video production to his repertoire of emceeing, songwriting, and studio engineering. Bully’s latest release is a 13 track album called “in my head (bullycity)” under the pseudo moniker BULLYCITY. “In My Head” takes you on an uplifting journey with Bully, as he takes you to his world and what he has been through since the release of his last projects. This entirely self-produced, self-mixed, self-everything album is the warm-up record for Bully’s next release currently untitled but already at the mixing stage.
