Together with his friend Holst, at the beginning of the 20th century Ralph Vaughan Williams deliberately took the course of liberating himself from ‘German influence’, as they called it, working for original British music. He found models and inspiration in original English folk music. Most of the works recorded here rank among the less known pieces by the composer, but all of them very clearly reflect the personal hue, the absolutely ‘personal style’ of Ralph Vaughan Williams. 德国莱茵州立爱乐乐团与其现任音乐总监、柏林爱乐前任单簧管独奏家Karl-Heinz Steffens携乐团演绎录制英国国宝级作曲家Ralph Vaughan Williams 管弦乐作品。20世纪初，Ralph Vaughan Williams 在友人的影响下，逐渐跳出了以德奥音乐的束缚，开始寻找原始的英国音乐。他的灵感很多来自英国民谣，创作的大部分作品，与他其他的作品相比，相对知名度较小，但都非常清晰地展现了Vaughan Williams 独特的个人风格。
