简介
The God of All Joy is the second in Amy's Anthology series, a mixture of new music and some of her fans favorite songs from previous recordings. As a singer songwriter Amy generally writes and sings about meaningful life stories and about her relationship with Jesus. The new songs "Beautiful Scars" and "Treasure" keep that tradition. Also she has once again taken an amazing hymn, "O Sacred Head, Now Wounded", and arranged it for the modern listener. Augmented by the, L.A. based, brilliant violinist Alex Wurmbrand and Nashville guitarist Gary Wixtrom, the hymn has a has a bit of a throwback sound akin to Kansas. Also, you may be hearing her new worship song " You are Lovely" on your local Christian radio station and it is designed for corporate worship. Biography Amy is many times conveniently referred to as a harpist. But, she is so much more. Although, her first recording was an international solo harp recording with Sparrow (now EMI-Christian) and Capitol, the large harp is only a small part of what makes Amy passionate about her music. Communicating to her audience by singing her self penned songs and using these songs to honor and glorify God is her desire. Amy, a former Miss Florida Teen, performed with the guitar and piano on stage as early as 5 yeas old. At eleven she was introduced to the harp and began to take lessons from the harp instructor at Florida State University. The attention she received from playing an unusual instrument helped open doors for early performances. Graduating with a music degree from Wheaton College, Amy landed in Nashville to pursue a music career. After signing her first record contract with Sparrow she was immediately signed as a staff writer at Birdwing music where she honed her skill as a writer. She has opened for Larry Carlton and Michael McDonald, performed at the NRB and Praise Gathering, and has worked with Tommy Sims, Norbert Putnam, Brian Hardin, and Peter York in the studio. Amy has recorded thirteen records for six companies and has been nominated for a Dove Award. Her previous album, a sixteen song vocal CD called “The God Of All Comfort” is distributed by DHM a division of RBC Ministries. AAR is also under contract with Zondervan for a 10 song version of the same CD which is available with best selling author Dee Brestin’s women's study guide based on her book with the same title. Amy tours the US speaking and singing in Churches, Universities, and Conferences. Conferences include leading worship for 'The Voice of the Martyrs' and 'Dee Brestin Ministries'. Amy has been influenced by many other artists and bands. James Taylor, Enya, Michael Card, Counting Crows, and several Irish artists have helped her develop her musical style. Co-writing and arranging with her husband has added a rock element to the music. The result is an appealing Celtic influenced folk/pop sound. Amy's music will comfort you, encourage you, and will challenge you to fall in love with a God who cares deeply for you.
