NEW SAMPLES JUST ADDED!!! Leaving in the shadows much of the darker gothic rock sound heard on his debut solo album, RavensBlind, Daniel approaches life and music with a new outlook clearly evident with Midnight My Angel's modern rock sound. From the opening chord of the first song, New Sun Rising, the force of Midnight My Angel, is truly apparent. This drive continues with the album's emphasis tracks, Heaven In My Mind, Your Secret, and Dream Life. Midway, the album changes to a more relaxed atmosphere, beginning with a cover of the modern country classic, Loving Her Was Easier, by Kris Kristofferson. This mood continues with the experimental tribal rhythms of I Will, the hypnotizing jazz influenced Tantra and the emotional acoustic tribute, To Say Goodbye. For An Angel and Never Love close the album with the same dynamic drive on which it began, with Never Love holding some of the gothic elements reminiscent of Daniel's RavensBlind album. From start to finish, Midnight My Angel is, in itself, a musical journey. MEDIA REVIEWS: VH1.COM "Sprawling and ambitious." PALM BEACH POST April 2, 2004 Bill Meredith "...The gothic, electric influence of RavensBlind (also the title of Dyer's 2000 solo debut) is evident here, but with pop trimmings. Highlights include the dramatic originals Heaven In My Mind and To Say Goodbye and a suprising cover of Kris Kristofferson's country tune, Loving Her Was Easier." RIKKS REVUES January 2004 Rikk Matheson "...A mixture of contemporary and roots rock, mystic rhythms, and some jazz style ...A great vocal range as at times you may be reminded of Queensryche and other times be as soothing as a peaceful star lit night ...This disk does prove one thing for certain; Daniel Dyer knows his way around a song through writing, performing, and how to make it blend smoothly. The tunes have elements of a fallen by the wayside concept album. There are very few folks that can pull that off as effectively as the bands past. However, Daniel Dyer puts his best foot forward. One of the highlights is a reworking of a Kris Kristofferson tune " Loving Her Was Easier " that sounds at times incredibly haunting." BOCA RATON NEWS October 17, 2003 Kelly Kenedy "...an inspired collection of modern rock tracks."
