This rustic Tango is seductive, dramatic, and has echoes of more ancient music from the east. David Holyoake is a contemporary composer and musician born in Australia and now living in Europe. For him, music is potent magic and deep language. He creates music in a variety of styles, focusing on contemporary classical music for the concert hall, but also writing in other styles such as gypsy tango and jazz. David is an award winning composer who has also received commissions to create original soundtracks for theatre, contemporary dance and film. His most recent Commission was to create a 1 hour soundtrack inspired by film noir music, for a new physical theatre work by Nyctolopic company, supported by the UK Arts Council and the Norwegian Embassy. His sheet music is published with ReedMusic. He is represented as an Associate Artist of the Australian Music Centre and a member of the Melbourne Composers League. He is a pianist, and also plays some flamenco guitar.
