This record, recorded in 1984, is long overdue to be released as a CD. SHYLO, a band of songwriters from Memphis, went in the studio to do a collection of their own proven hit songs. Their songs have been recorded by more than 40 different artists, including CHARLIE RICH, DON WILLIAMS, MEL MCDANIEL, TAMMY WYNETTE, REBA MCENTIRE, CONWAY TWITTY, MARCIA BALL, JOHNNY PAYCHECK, TRAVIS TRITT, ALAN JACKSON, and the list goes on and on. This collection includes 4 songs that went to #1, namely, ROLLING WITH THE FLOW, recorded by CHARLIE RICH, FOOL FOR YOUR LOVE, by MICKEY GILLEY, THE WHISKEY AIN'T WORKING, by TRAVIS TRITT and MARTY STUART, and WHO'S CHEATIN' WHO, which went to # 1 twice, once by CHARLY McCLAIN in 1981 and then ALAN JACKSON took the song to # 1 in 1998. This record is a great version of the real Shylo energy, just as the group took it to the night clubs on weekends for years. The group, who recorded at Lyn-Lou Recording Studio in Memphis, worked their magic for Columbia Records in the 70's and Polygram/Mercury Records in the 80's. Ronny Scaife and Jerry Hayes, two stalwarts of this amazing group, have both passed away, but this music makes one feel that they will always be with us, as SHYLO'S music sounds so pure and timeless.
