For our 23rd release, we turn to South African based artists, Weston & Engine to show us a taste of the local underground that's been emerging in the past few months for their debut Ambious Records release. Keeping true to their sound, they have delivered nothing short of a groovy, elemental mix of deep and hypnotic flavored House Music, that we're excited to bring forward to showcase a bit of what these boys have been up to. The first track off the EP, 'Dream Interpretations', remains true to its name. Ethereal dub chords flow over a groove-based low end that is reminiscent of what a dancefloor in our dreams might sound like. The second track, 'Self Communication' sets the tone with a melancholic piano progression that moves through the beat and leads the way for the strings and bass to add texture and weight to the tension and mood. Next up, we have, 'Above or Below the Centre' produced alongside local DJ and producer Guy Herman. Setting the pace for the rest of the EP, the organic layers back up the movement of the melody and move into an open landscape that is sure to get any dancefloor grooving with its undeniable atmosphere. And lastly, 'Not The Ending' rounds off the EP perfectly, with a nostalgic piano melody and an arpeggiated lead that keeps things moving until the very end. With subtle chords and pad's moving throughout, a perfect final track to a well-rounded EP to help close things off in a style that these boys have become known for.
