Snow begins to fall and it is close to Christmas. You are alone, waiting for a loved one, a family member, an old friend. As you drift through your memories of Christmases past, you hear faint melodies; snatches of the carols, and at times a complete melody. This is that album in your head. Snatches of carols, almost complete melodies, and yet, enough of what you hear tells you its at once familiar and unknown. This is music for quiet snowfalling nights when meditation and rememberance are most important. Listen to the quiet melodies as you drift in and out of present, to younger days, and gentler times. This is solo piano music, recorded as performed in St. Andrew's Cathedral in Chicago. It is an abstract presentation of traditional Christmas carols and hymns. We wanted a stark effect; echoing the loneliness that accompanies the holidays, the longing, and the echoes of past holidays. I think we achieved that end in this album.
