Overwhelmingly sexy, refreshingly twisted and fiercely powerful, Alex Robshaw breaks and redefines the boundaries of the Art of Performance, combining the intensity of her ground-breaking music with her unique mastery of storytelling. Her live band features Ben Mayo-Goldberg on drums, Gabriel Jetté on bass, and Julian Stirpe on guitar.

Alex Robshaw is a writer, a composer, and a performer from Montreal, Canada. Raised in a family of musicians, Alex Robshaw’s training began when she was very young, and she has been active for quite a long time. After many professionnal experiences between 2004 and 2006, Robshaw decided to focus on her solo career. She released two EPs –a self-titled demo in 2007 and the CD/DVD DeTales, in 2009. In November 2010, Robshaw began the production of her first full-length album, 1339 Crowder’s End, which was released two years later on November 3rd, 2012.

1339 Crowder’s End is fully-loaded with collaborations with many of Montreal’s finest musicians. The powerful album stands as a token staple in 21rst-century music, innovatively gathering inspiration from the modernism movement of the early 1900s’, ‘90s alternative hardcore and heavy rock, funk, and trip hop. Complete with a 36-page booklet featuring the lyrics of every song as well as short-stories written for 13 of its 15 tracks, 1339 Crowder’s End opens the door to Alex Robshaw’s multi-faceted, prolific creative universe.

Alex Robshaw believes strongly in the evolution of society through ongoing creation –that true, authentic art does bring individuals to evolve into more positive states of mind. Her idiosyncratic lyrics and stories portray reality in a groundbreaking, fascinating way, while her music displays raw intensity, passion, fearlessness and freedom. Alex Robshaw and her band are currently focusing on touring widely and frequently, so as to showcase Robshaw's creative universe to whoever dares to come to the show, and watch, and listen.
