简介
Within this work the concept of suicide is re-imagined, inspired in 7 quotes from history's greatest thinkers. Suicide is a controversial yet important topic, as the number of suicides has increased over the past 50 years, with about 1 million people taking their lives annually. In the United States that amounts to about one suicide every 14 minutes. There is no single cause to suicide. It most often occurs when we become overwhelmed by life events and feel we are unable to handle it. Although suicide is linked to underlying mental health conditions, which sometimes can go unnoticed, daily life stress and unsettling events can leave any of us feeling powerless and vulnerable to suicidal thoughts. "It is my hope that this work will serve to raise awareness and contribute in helping entities like the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in their effort to provide support to our brothers and sisters in successfully developing the needed coping skills that will enable them to enjoy a happy live, and to the families of those who are no longer with us in finding comfort". --- Federico Balducci 1. They tell us that suicide is the greatest piece of cowardice... that suicide is wrong; when it is quite obvious that there is nothing in the world to which every man has a more unassailable title than to his own life and person. Arthur Schopenhauer (Studies in Pessimism, 1893) 2. and then, I have nature and art and poetry, and if that is not enough, what is enough? Vincent Van Gogh (Letter from Vincent van Gogh to Theo van Gogh London, January 1874 ) 3. "Sometimes even to live is an act of courage For sometimes it is an act of bravery even to live." Seneca (Letters to Lucilius Letter 78) 4. “None of us can truly know what we mean to other people, and none of us can know what our future self will experience..." Hecht 2015 5. But in the end one needs more courage to live than to kill himself. Albert Camus (A Happy Death 1971) 6. "The thought of suicide is a great consolation: by means of it one gets through many a dark night." Friedrich Nietzsche (Beyond Good and Evil, 1886) 7. "No one believes in his own death... our own death is indeed unimaginable and whenever we make an attempt to imagine it we can perceive that we really survive as spectators... in the unconscious everyone is convinced of his own immortality" Carl G Jung (1964) Thanks to everyone that was involve in any way on the production of this album and The force that causes coincidences
