After several successful releases romantic standards, saxophonist Bruce Abbott and friends formed CommonGround to interpret some of the music they grew up with - songs by the Beatles, Bonnie Raitt, Van Morrison, Carol King and do many others. Bruce's soulful sax leads the group, which includes Peter Calo (Carly Simon, Linda Eder) on guitar, with Ron Fournier on keyboards, Marty Ballou on bass, and Paul Mason on drums. With touches of strings, Mike Turk on harmonica and John Allmark on trumpet, the group breathes fresh life into the classic anthems of the era.
