Matt Black (Guitar, lead vocals) has taken the punky metallic sound pioneered in his time as a founder member of the Fireballs and taken it to another level again. Fattening the sound and emphasizing the groove is the name of the game with DOUBLEBLACK, with their proto-rockabilly boosted with adventurous songwriting and a fat backbeat which chills and thrills. Jason Skewes has spent much time slapping double bass with many Melbourne based bands and that experience has developed a sound that is both musical and muscular. Jason’s physical and melodic style is just right for DOUBLEBLACK’s songs, with a perfect combination of roots and rock to lock in and propel the band’s rhythm along. Travis Demsey put the punk heart and soul into the original Living End. As one of Australia’s foremost hard hitting drummers, Travis knows his way around a powerful three piece musical combination, and DOUBLEBLACK benefits from his songcraft and arrangement skills. Like Jason, Travis has had the benefit of diverse musical experience in bands such as The Living End, and Celtic Punk outfit The Currency.
