简介
Helen Coleman is a formally trained Australian Classical/Jazz singer, a sought after soloist on both the national, and international, platform. She was born in Outback Queensland, and grew up on a sugar cane and cattle property near Childers. Helen was formally trained in Bel Canto technique from the age of eleven, and this early formal study instilled an enduring love of both Opera and Classical Jazz. Her Blues tinged voice and natural feel for Traditional Jazz and Blues led to renditions of the enduring favourites by the Great Ladies of Jazz, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan. In 2012, Helen was diagnosed with a rare thyroid cancer, and surgery resulted in complete vocal loss for two years. Helen worked relentlessly during that time to re-establish her voice. In 2015, exactly three years after losing her voice, Helen released her first single, Ave Verum by Welsh Composer, Sir Karl Jenkins, and arranged by D. Philippe. Helen is a passionate and committed musician. When she is not engaged in performance or recording, she enjoys the company of her beloved horses, and the solitude of the Australian landscape.
