James Konopasek, also known as Jim Kono, Jimmy K, and his band names, "Rockslide" and "Jimmy K & The Variations," writes about human triumphs and tragedies -- inspired by his work in the criminal justice system. He is an avid backcountry horseman and outdoorsman, who loves to make music about the strengths and shortcomings of animals and humans. His considers the following songwriters as major influences: James Taylor, Lyle Lovett, Steve Earle, Robert Earl Keen, and Lucinda Williams.
