Native Mainer Billy Winn moved to down to Portland from the western mountains in 2003. He had decided to try his hand at song writing after 20 years of fronting cover bands, referring to his genre as alternative country rock pop. He blends his diverse musical tastes by combining southern rock and traditional country with a blues flavor and a touch of Appalachia thrown in. Strong influences began with his first store-bought cassette "Wichita Lineman" by Glen Campbell, wandered through music by Led Zeppelin, and brought him to artists of today like Gary Allan and Jack White. Billy's thirst for everything music has no boundaries. He writes what he knows.
