简介

When I initially signed up for the CedarS 50th reunion I started humming songs I would sing to my girls at bedtime back when I was a counselor. Within minutes the angel message came to me about putting a collection of those songs together for CedarS but I wasn’t sure if I should move forward with it. The next day I was sitting on the NYC subway and a busker came into our train car and started playing the melody to “I Love The Mountains” on his accordion. In 10 years of subway travel I had never heard that song played before and I took it as a message to move forward. So I asked a couple of friends who had gone to CedarS what they thought, got the greenlight, and then brought it to the Huffs. The word went out that we needed funding assistance to produce the CD, and we are so grateful to the generous donor who underwrote the production costs, allowing 100% of the proceeds from album sales to go toward camperships. Then came the question of who to record with and my friend and amazing musician, Daniel Loomis (also a CedarS alum) popped into my mind. With him we got his brother, Jason (another CedarS alum), who is a wonderfully talented musician in his own right and allowed us to use his studio for all of our recording. Hours were spent arranging songs that had no sheet music and so some of the songs will be as you remember, and some have our twist on them. All were REALLY fun to revisit. We were also blessed to have so many gifted musicians who have written songs for Cedars contribute to the collection that they ended up with their own CD! We hope that this collection of music will be enjoyed by you, your children and their children as the songs are timeless and full of joy. Special thanks to Ruth, Warren, Gay, Holly and Barry who have trusted our vision from day one and given nothing but support and enthusiasm. And thank YOU for wanting to keep the CedarS songs and spirit alive! Warmly, Erin Williams, Former Cedars Camper & Counselor
