In January 2014, CNN and several national and international news stations ran a story about Madisyn and “Crazy, Crazy”. Thereafter, in March 2014, Madisyn’s story was aired on WSB-TV channel 2 Atlanta’s television special program called, “Being Bullied”. That same year, Madisyn recorded a PSA where she compared cyberbullying to EBOLA. Madisyn has had many proud moments since she began writing songs at age ten and performing. One such moment was when she was named the 2013 winner of the McDonald's "The Gift" singing competition. Madisyn performed one of her songs titled, “Fire, Storm & Rain”. She won money, gifts and prizes. But, she is most honored by being recognized and given the 2015 Youth Advocate Award from a non-profit organization named, “Saving Our Children and Families, Inc.” Madisyn was given this award for being an outspoken advocate against bullying and domestic violence. She also performed her song, “Crazy, Crazy” at the program. Madisyn continues to speak up and sing out against bullying and other human right injustices. She is currently on the “Bullying is Not Hot” tour with local Atlanta radio station, Hot 107.9 where she speaks with elementary students about bullying and the harm to those being bullied; and Madisyn is the 2017 winner of the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights International Songwriting Contest for “Teenage Refugees”. The contest encourages middle and high school students to become engaged in human rights through music. The contest is sponsored by the GRAMMY Museum and RFK Human Rights. Madisyn was also recognized in March 2017 by the Grammy’s Atlanta chapter at a event for writing "Teenage Refugees". Madisyn wrote and released a very reflective, emotionally charged and thought provoking song called, “Unité”. Madisyn wrote Unité after seeing how divided America was along racial, ethnic, gender and political lines during the 2016 presidential elections. Although Madisyn takes you on a journey from the painful memories of slavery, through the civil rights movement, she writes about a united America, despite those who encourage hate and dissension.
