简介
In her own words 'So, here's my story: I began my career as a professional singer with the Boston-based band, The Mudhens. For six years, me and the boys played our hearts out every weekend, recorded three albums, and developed a loyal following from Canada to Philadelphia. We've had the honor of opening for performers such as Neil Young, Beck, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, 10,000 Maniacs, Ben Folds 5, Guster, The Push Stars, and Everything. We were nominated for a Boston Music Award in 1998 and even had two songs on the top 40 list of 2 national charts. Two years into the band I began writing songs. 'Edinburgh' and 'This San Juan' were the first to spring forth with 'High Tide in Tuscon' and 'Hide Me' following close behind. In the summer of 1999, I decided to branch out and record my own album of recently written songs. 'Pulling Down Sky' was produced by Chris Lannon at the Research Kitchen in the fall, and released in the spring of 2000. The record is a bit more folk/acoustic driven than the Mudhen's stuff, yet it is sprinkled with the flavor of the band, as each member contributed something to the project. In finding inspiration for the songs, I'm influenced by every place and face I encounter, every experience I've had or friends have had. One song could span an era of 10 years, with a cast of characters from five different phases of my life. Being true to my nature and love of variety, this album is rock, folk, country, and Celtic. I hope you enjoy this album. Thank you for listening-- helping me pull down the sky!' Carla
