简介
Hot on the heels of his remix album Fill At Will and accompanying beat tape Lunch Breaks, Toronto rapper More Or Les in collaboration with Montreal-based producer Recordface is out to release some Tension…! POST MILLENNIUM TENSION is an 8-track EP discussing various aspects of Metropolitan Life in the 21st Century First World. Topics include our on-going obsession with smart phones and mobile devices, internet privacy, the value of escaping to Nature, US whistleblower Ed Snowden and Les’ favourite futurist Gene Roddenberry. Guest appearances from Toronto rappers The Mighty Rhino and Timbuktu (Backburner / Swamp Thing) round out this look at our mental and social condition over snappy drums, folksy instruments and large, rolling baselines. Hailing from Southwest Ontario, Tim Horlor began his career as Recordface in the late 1990s, earning his producer chops in his teens and then attending the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology. After moving to Montreal to run a recording studio and play in various bands, Horlor hooked up with rapper and long-time friend Ryan Somers aka Fritz tha Cat to collaborate on music. The pair released three albums under the moniker OK Cobra – Self Titled in 2005, Delirium Tremens in ’09 and The D.T.’s (Volume One) in ’10. While working on and since those releases, Recordface has produced tracks for various artists including Juno-award-winner Shad, Juno-nominee D-Sisive, Halifax rapper Jesse Dangerously, and D Roc of the MuchMusic Video Award-winning group Len. Recordface currently works as a Recording/Mixing Engineer at Mel Hoppenheim. With five critically acclaimed albums, international touring under his belt, over a decade of performances, and features with UK Hip Hop band The Herbaliser, Toronto MC, Producer & DJ More Or Les is a hip hop triple threat. In addition to numerous rap releases and performances, Les is a DJ/co-host at the monthly Toronto hip hop showcase 5 Dollar Rap Show with the Wordburglar, and co-host/DJ of the media-attention-grabbing Hip Hop Karaoke. He was also the resident DJ at Toronto’s most influential underground hip hop showcase, In Divine Style, which ran weekly from 2001-2006.
