简介
John Johnstone's classical guitar pieces run the musical gamut of moods and color. Acadia Minor is a two movement solo classical guitar piece that he composed in 2013. The first movement, Ice, unfolds slowly with an evocative invitation to explore it's sensual journey. It ends in an arpeggio flourish at a faster tempo. The concluding movement, Salt, is an upbeat dance like piece that brings the music to a joyous conclusion. He recorded the music in 2013 at Bowdoin College in Studzinski Hall. The cd cover for Acadia Minor was painted and designed by him. Mr. Johnstone's music appeals to the listener on a visceral as well as cerebral level. His music travels from passionate and moody to upbeat and cinematic. Rich harmonies and textures are mixed with lighter and more transparent sections. Acadia Minor has an original sound that offers a unique listening experience.
