With a sound reminiscent of folk and country rock classics such as The Waifs and Sheryl Crow she has been alluring and tantalizing live audiences with her fiery and personal performances. Now with the forthcoming album Focus, Chelsea’s story is just getting started. Starting her journey at a young age at the prestigious Johnny Young Talent School, Chelsea was 16 when she attracted the attention of renowned producer Lee Bradshaw, releasing her debut EP in 2010. The three feel good and catchy tracks co-written and produced by Lee Bradshaw (BMP Productions) are further aided in their pedigree by legendary ARIA award winning mix engineer Doug Brady ("Whispering Jack" - John Farnham, "The Swing Sessions" - David Campbell) and mastering guru Martin Pullan (Guy Sebastian, Jimmy Barnes, Deep Purple). The EP captured the essence of Chelsea’s fervent vocals in a release that was pop bliss at its finest. 2013 has seen Chelsea enter a new phase in her musical life. Finding her feet in Melbourne with a newly crafted down to earth, charismatic sound that symbolised her bohemian, laid back and charismatic personality, she spent months in the studio with Bradshaw and her new band The Woven Soles (Troy Downward, Tom Campbell-Dick- guitars, Djulz Chambers, Djembe, Jayden Williams- double bass, backing vocals) recording an album that truly captures the Chelsea Morgan experience. The result was Focus, a celebration of Chelsea’s fiery passion for life and a reflection on the world and her relationship with it. About the album Flittering between playful, mischievous and sensual while always remaining authentic, Focus is a candid look at a fun, down to earth girl with a story to tell. The songs are inspired from her work as a counselor and the meanings she has given to the experiences in her life; the narration of her story. “I believe people are interpretive beings, we give meaning to our experiences constantly as we live our lives. ‘Focus’ is about the choices I have made, the ones I would like to or have liked to have made and also how I feel about the ones other people have made. It’s also about my life and what exists inside, what curiosities I have and how I cope with what happens; what values and beliefs I have created from simply living, all pieces of me really.
