A few years ago I left Scotland to spend some time in NYC. I immediately loved the vibrancy of the scene and the energy of the music there, meeting and playing with some great musicians. I made the decision to return to live in Scotland to pursue my musical career, but ever since I have thought how great it would be to make a CD that would unite some New York jazz musicians with the influence of music from this place to which I returned, that little bit further east of East 7th Street.
