简介
Tegancat Music is a songwriting/recording studio and record label located in Winnipeg, Canada. Tegancat – Listen features songs by 6 talented artists whose diverse styles come together in an album sure to appeal to a wide range of listeners. Courtney Parker’s song, “Nobody Any Good,” delivers with powerful emotion and well crafted lyrics, and gives listeners a sample of what is to come on this pop vocalist’s debut album, scheduled for release in July 2007. Grace Murillo’s two songs - a retro house remix of "California" (from her first solo album, Wonderful), and the jammin' summer tune "We're Alive" – mark the continuation of a successful recording career. With two releases as a member of the vocal trio Tegancat, an album with the Canadian band TRU 22, and two solo CDs, Grace is an accomplished performer and a serious session singer in the studio. Songs from her solo albums have received airplay on several Winnipeg radio stations, including Cool FM, Cafe 100, Hot 103 and CBC Radio's "Up to Speed." Along with Grace Murillo, Janice Baris began her recording career as a member of both Tegancat (a remix from one of these early albums is included here) and TRU 22. With her versatility and rich vocals, Janice has also recorded backup vocals for Grace Murillo and Courtney Parker, and has been an invaluable addition to their projects. Her smooth and enchanting voice is showcased here with three outstanding songs – “Ordinary World,” “If You Find Your Way,” and “She’ll Give In.” Singer-songwriter Kim Reimer’s energetic country-pop style is both captivating and fun. Influenced by artists such as Fleetwood Mac, Jewel, the Dixie Chicks, and Sheryl Crow, Kim's passion for strong lyrics and melody is evident in her songwriting. The two songs included here – “Let’s Get Away” and “Ready or Not” – give audiences a taste of what they will find on her debut solo CD, to be released in late 2007. Berna de Castro’s soulful approach to interpreting a lyric can be heard in “Bring It On.” With its "modern urban/60's beatnic" rhythms, soulful vocals, and playful guitar counterpoint, Berna’s song is sure to catch your attention. The album closes with “Castaway,” a beautiful ballad by Toronto producer, singer and songwriter Rodney Ronquillo.
