Vise Menn is a modern Norwegian rockband consisting of four members from a diverse musical background, including punk, rock, psychedelic, meditation and praise. This is four people representing four different angles musically and spiritually to the same source of belief. Sonically they are situated in the rock landscape somewhere amongst Coldplay, U2, Pink Floyd and Muse. It is obvious however that their Norwegian roots have influenced their music in a way that trees and mountains would, rather then the car-traffic and city life of most modern rock music. The album 'la gå' was recorded in a rather unusual way. The music for the whole album was recorded live in a church deep in the winter forests of Norway, all in just one weekend. Vocals and additional sounds were layered on top of the live recording, keeping in mind all the time to preserve the original live character and nerve. The result has become a beautiful, soulful voyage through 11 songs characterised by true artistic innovation in all production stages from song writing to instrumentation, recording and mixing.
