"A Thing or Two About a Dream" is Frankie Raye's second studio album (though her first was released independently and can be found by visiting her website). It is a collection of painfully honest and witty songs delivered through catchy and up-beat melodies, with hints of 1950's pop, older Broadway, and 1990's acoustic coffee-shop music. With her powerful voice and wide vocal range, Frankie's upbeat melodies are infused with tongue-in-cheek lyrics, though certain songs fail to hide her seriousness.

"A Thing or Two About a Dream" introduces Frankie with a full band (and even ukulele on the album's title track). This follow-up album represents the growth that Frankie has endured through becoming a full-time musician, a feat that she accomplished since her first album's release. The introducing song, "Plastic Toys", deals with the frustrations Frankie faces when performing in front of an unresponsive and under-impressed audience, while the final track, "A Thing or Two About a Dream", deals with the acceptance she received from an audience at a local music festival. Though this album carries an upbeat and light-hearted tone, certain songs reveal more serious subjects, such as her struggles with alcohol in "Old Friend", and the death of her estranged father in "Song for My Dad" (a song that was actually re-recorded from her first album strictly on piano).
