Johnson and Jahstix’s Grandmother, Florence B. Uwawah née Okotie. Having grown up in the 60’s and 70’s listening to these classic songs, and having performed on many Holiday albums for artists like Sting, Whitney Houston, Vanessa Williams, Grover Washington Jr., Bette Midler and others, I felt the calling to add my interpretation to these wonderful songs of the Season. I’m a big fan of the Holiday season, its magic, its wonder and its infectious spirit of peace giving, love sharing, and good will to all. I offer this musical installment as my contribution to that infectious spirit, with the hope for a shift in our consciousness, to bequeath a better world to our children, and to their children. I wrote “I’ll Be Dreaming”, this album’s title song for my Father, who never got to hear its completion. Love you Dad! Nat King Cole, a very tough act to follow, recorded the most popular recording of this truly great Christmas song. There is lots of Holiday imagery in the words to this Christmas song, which is truly reflected in one of its lines "from kids from one to ninety-two" which encompass the essence of the family Christmas. Chestnuts roasting on an open fire Jack Frost nipping on your nose Yuletide carols being sung by a choir And folks dressed up like Eskimos Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe Help to make the season bright Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow Will find it hard to sleep tonight They know that Santa's on his way He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh And every mother's child is going to spy To see if reindeer really know how to fly And so I'm offering this simple phrase To kids from one to ninety-two Although it’s been said many times, many ways Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Hanukkah to you “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” Lead Vocals, Jahstix Dadson Background Vocals, Bashiri Johnson Cello, Marika Hughes Guitars, Larry Saltzman Trumpet, Barry Danielian Keyboards, Jetro DaSilva Percussion & Programming, Bashiri Johnson Videography & Editing, Agnes Garfield Video Actors, Aleksandra Janusz, Evan Brady, Leroy Mobley, Larry Arias By Kim Gannon and Walter Kent. The idea of being home for Christmas originated in World War I when soldiers at first thought that the war would be quick and they would return by Christmastime. This inevitably did not happen, hence the line "if only in my dreams" And this goes out to all the soldiers in the front line Battles, crosshairs and doing time We send our prayers and love to honor them We light the candles in your absence We decorate the trees and save your presents We await your return to the home where affections burn It’s Time for a shift in our consciousness Embrace the new openness Where swords become ploughshares And people no longer study warfare I'll be home for Christmas, You can count on me. Please have snow and mistletoe And presents under the tree. Christmas Eve will find me Where the love-light gleams. I'll be home for Christmas If only in my dreams. This has gone out to all the soldiers in the front line Fighting in the crosshairs who’ve done time We’ve sent our prayers and love to honor you We decorated the trees and saved your presents Now that you’ve returned home where affections burn There is still time for a shift in our consciousness To embrace the new openness Swords become ploughshares People no longer study warfare “What Child Is This”: Lead Vocals, Jahstix Dadson Featured Lead vocals, Maia Johnson Background Vocals, Bashiri Johnson Children’s vocals, Maia Johnson, Kennedy Austin, Camille Johnson, Samantha Jordon, Elza Moore, Emily Cornicello, Austin Zambito-Valente, Miranda Cornell, Emily Bibby and Alia Carponter-Walker Percussion & Programming, Bashiri Johnson Drums, Shawn Pelton Keyboards, Jetro DaSilva Bass, Jerry Barnes Guitars, Larry Saltzman By William Chatterton Dix "What Child Is This?" is one of the most moving and beautiful of Victorian carols. Its history can be traced back farther than the days of Henry VIII. It dates from Elizabethan time, possibly even earlier. "What Child Is This?" is a Christmas carol lyrically written in 1865 by William Chatterton Dix to the melody of "Greensleeves". Although the chorus changes from verse to verse, many recorded versions simply use the first chorus throughout. We love to sing Yeah, we love to dance Yeah, We hope and dream Yeah, giving peace a chance Yeah We wanna grow Yeah, happy as we go. All Around The World. We wanna learn Yeah, we wanna reach Yeah, We want our rights Yeah, have freedom of speech Yeah, We wanna show Yeah, love is what we know. All around the world. What Child is this, who laid to rest, On Mary's lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet While shepherds watch are keeping. This, this is Christ the King Whom shepherds guard and angels sing. Haste, haste to bring Him laud, The Babe, the Son of Mary. Why lies he in such mean estate Where ox and a** are feeding? Good Christian fear, for sinners here, The silent word is pleading. This, this is Christ the King Whom shepherds guard and angels sing. Haste, haste to bring Him laud, The Babe, the Son of Mary. So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh; Come peasant, king to own Him. The King of Kings salvation brings; Let loving hearts enthrone Him. This, this is Christ the King Whom shepherds guard and angels sing. Haste, haste to bring Him laud, The Babe, the Son of Mary. Also known as the Portuguese Hymn. O come, all ye faithful, Joyful and triumphant, O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem; Come and behold him, Born the King of angels; O come, let us adore him, O come, let us adore him, O Come, let us adore him, Christ the Lord. Sing, choirs of angels, Sing in exultation, Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above; Glory to God all Glory in the highest; Refrain Yea, Lord, we greet thee, Born this happy morning; Jesus, to thee be all glory given; Word of the Father, Now in flesh appearing; Refrain “Little Drummer Boy”: Lead Vocals, Jahstix Dadson Background Vocals, Bashiri Johnson, Kashif Percussion & Programming, Bashiri Johnson By Katherine K. Davis, Henry Onorati and Harry Simeone 'Little Drummer Boy' was first recorded in 1958. It became a smash hit again and again for various artists but the best one was perhaps the rendition of Bing Crosby and David Bowie. The words 'rum pum pum pum' were repeated about 21 times in this song. Come they told me, pa rum pum pum pum A new born King to see, pa rum pum pum pum Our finest gifts we bring, pa rum pum pum pum To lay before the King, pa rum pum pum pum, Rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum, So to honor Him, pa rum pum pum pum, When we come. Mary nodded, pa rum pum pum pum The ox and lamb kept time, pa rum pum pum pum I played my drum for Him, pa rum pum pum pum I played my best for Him, pa rum pum pum pum, Rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum, Then He smiled at me, pa rum pum pum pum, Me and my drum “Let It Snow”: Lead Vocals, Jahstix Dadson Background Vocals, Bashiri Johnson Percussion & Programming, Bashiri Johnson Featured Spoken Word Vocal, Maia Johnson Keyboards, Jetro DaSilva Bass, Jerry Barnes Guitars, Larry Saltzman By Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne Lyricist Sammy Cahn and the composer Jule Styne created the wonderful Christmas song in 1945. The words and lyrics of Let It Snow reflect the feeling of warmth and security associated with Christmas and also brings in the more modern customs of popping corn! Due to its seasonal lyrics, "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!" is commonly regarded as a Christmas song. Yet despite its cheery, holiday feel, it is a love song that never mentions Christmas. Oh, the weather outside is frightful, But the fire is so delightful And since we've no place to go, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow It doesn't show signs of stopping, And I brought some corn for popping The lights are turned way down low, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. When we finally kiss good night, How I'll hate to go out in the storm, Baby But if you really hold me tight, All the way home I'll be warm The fire is slowly dying, And, my dear, we're still good-bye-ing But as long as you love me so, Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. “Feliz Navidad”: Lead Vocals, Jahstix Dadson Background Vocals, Bashiri Johnson Background Vocals, Kimberli Flores Children’s vocals, Maia Johnson, Kennedy Austin, Camille Johnson, Samantha Jordon, Elza Moore, Emily Cornicello, Austin Zambito-Valente, Miranda Cornell, Emily Bibby and Alia Carponter-Walker Percussion & Programming, Bashiri Johnson Keyboards, Jetro DaSilva Bass, Jerry Barnes Guitars, Larry Saltzman By Jose Feliciano Feliz Navidad is a Christmas song written in 1970 by the Puerto Rican singer-songwriter José Feliciano. meaning "Merry Christmas" (literally "Happy Nativity) has become a classic Christmas pop song in the United States, Canada and throughout the Spanish-speaking world. He was requested to produce a poem that could be given away to children by the Santa Claus employed by Department Stores at Christmas! Working as an Advertising Executive Robert May had a natural flair with words and was able to compose the Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer poem which was specifically designed to appeal to children. This marketing ploy was a massive success and approximately 2.5 million Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer poems were given away in the first year of its publication! In 1949 the singer Gene Autry recorded a musical version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer composed by Johnny Marks. Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer had a very shiny nose. And if you ever saw him, you would even say it glows. All of the other reindeer used to laugh and call him names. They never let poor Rudolph join in any reindeer games. Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say: "Rudolph with your nose so bright, won't you guide my sleigh tonight?" Then all the reindeer loved him as they shouted out with glee, Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer, you'll go down in history! “Silent Night”: Lead Vocals, Jahstix Dadson Background Vocals, Bashiri Johnson Percussion & Programming, Bashiri Johnson Drums, Shawn Pelton Children’s vocals, Maia Johnson, Deandra Ford, Kennedy Austin Bass, Jerry Barnes Guitars, Larry Saltzman Acoustic Guitar, Jahstix Dadson By Franz Xavier Gruber 'Silent Night' was originally penned as a poem by an Austrian priest called Joseph Mohr in 1816. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me! I once was lost, but now am found. Was blind, but now I see. ’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear.
