Heartspace was created in 2003 when the paths of singer/songwriter Karl Belanger and percussionist/ Native American flute player Garrick Faust crossed in Paradise Valley, Montana. From seemingly different cultural backgrounds, Karl and Garrick found that they had two things in common; the love of music and the quest for spiritual truth. In their parallel searches for spiritual knowledge, in the Buddhic Vedas, the Mystery Schools scrolls and writings, in Native American traditions and legends, and in Biblical texts, they discovered that the universal answers sought by all are hidden in every heart. It is to this sacred space inside the heart, where the soul resides, that Karl and Garrick feel that they are guided to write their music, poetry and song. The music is a combination of acoustic guitars and Native American flute, accented with percussion and vocal harmonies through which is weaved a poetic message. The goal of 'heartspace' is to share an experience. Karl and Garrick hope that the music might inspire, uplift and encourage all those who seek truth on this journey we call life.
