A singer/songwriter from the UK with an understanding for what it takes to make a great acoustic/pop/rock record, 22-year-old Chris Townsend crafts songs that fans of acoustic based pop/rock can enjoy. As Chris explains, "I want to make music that I would want to hear, so its got to have bits of all the things I love..." Chris’s songs explore the classic themes of love, life, loss and regret but these now have an added originality with the use of effects pedals, creating drumbeats, bass and lead lines and vocal harmonies live onstage around his acoustic guitar and vocals to create an ethereal and dramatic sound; similar to that of Crowded House, The Verve and Coldplay with further comparisons being drawn from the likes of multi-platinum US artists Gavin Degraw, John Mayer, Howie Day and The Dave Matthews Band. Since October 2005 when Chris supported UK chart toppers "The Feeling", he has been working endlessly playing gigs across the UK culminating in a recent tour with David Sneddon and Jake Hook to promote his newly recorded "What Are You Waiting For" EP which is available online through his myspace, this website and through iTunes. Finally, over the past few months Chris has greatly increased his fanbase reaching audiences worldwide by using online resources such as Myspace.com where for example he has had over 130,000 plays and 90,000 hits since February 2006.
