简介
"Passionate & inspired guitar playing are the two words that came to mind while listening to this CD that beautifully brings together the diverse styles of flamenco, Mediterranean, classical & folk. While there are many technically proficient guitarists, it is those who play with warmth & expressiveness that set themselves apart. With "Intuition", Rosario has recorded a truly distinctive CD that clearly establishes him as a member of the upper echelon of creative guitarists." Norman Beberman, GuitarNation.com Rosario De Marco, guitarist - composer is renowned throughout Italy for his arrangements and performances of Neapolitan and popular music. Rosario has performed live as well as for national TV and radio. He has released a number of CDs, including “Light and Shadows” and “Roots”. His music captures the warmth and passion of the Southern European lands, taking elements from flamenco, jazz, classical, folk and popular music. With this mixture of different musical inspirations he creates his own personal and highly melodious style... In composing and performing his music, Rosario’s ambitious and passionate desire to broaden and to extend his musical inspiration brought him to the idea of the United World Music project. The U.W.M. project combines Mediterranean sounds with other musical styles and utilises different instruments (guitar, drums, bass, percussions, saxophone, voice...), producing highly exotic harmonies and passionate melodies... With countless performances around Victoria, Rosario's reputation as a unique and vibrant guitarist has grown swiftly in the local music scene. Successful performances include as support act for Omara Portuendo (Buena Vista Social Club), and Ladysmith Black Mambazo at the Melbourne Concert Hall, Harvest Picnic at Hanging Rock, the Frankston Guitar Festival (2000 & 2001), the Boite Winter Music festivals (2000, 2001 & 2002), and solo performances at the Victorian Arts Centre Esso Music in the Foyer series. The rapid growth in popularity of Rosario's group was seen at the performance in the Global Sounds at Sunset Series at the Melbourne Museum, where he received a standing ovation for his splendid performance. He can also be heard regularly on radio stations such as SBS, 3AK, ABC and 3MBS. Rosario's CD "Light and Shadows" was released on the Australian market in 2000, and his latest CD "Intuition" has been released nationally on the Move label. The United World Music project Profile The United World Music project, under the direction of guitarist/composer Rosario De Marco, started in Italy in 1994 and uses his original compositions in live performance situations and in recorded mediums. Original Mediterranean music played by outstanding musicians. It was and is financed by Rosario De Marco founder and Artistic Director of the "project", through live performance, Cd sales, Sponsors and Royalties. The "project" Profile The project is based on original music composed, performed and recorded by Rosario De Marco. It is a creative process, involving different musicians, instruments and artists, from different cultural backgrounds and musical backgrounds, in different formats (solo, duo, trio, quartet, quintet, and orchestra...) The project is fluent, that is can expand and contract its group members, depending on artistic aims, and can at times incorporate new instruments and investigate new sounds, as well as change instruments. What the critics have to say: Rosario De Marco CD "Intuition" "I love the mellowness of the album with all its various fusions of flamenco, classical and folk ... The finger/fretwork is excellent!" (Tony Bates, 3WBC FM) "Those who enjoy guitar music that flows like a cooling stream over the soul should hear this session ... This music relaxes the listener and enhances immediate pleasures no matter how passive." (Michael Foster, Canberra Times) "Rosario takes you from breath to life to wonder in this guitar album. He caresses the classical so well it speaks greatly, and tells of his own styling ... Rosario's guitar sang the way I like guitars to sing." (Bill Freeland, Maverick USA) Rosario De Marco is a master guitarist who also has the capacity to compose. And there are some really excellent compositions on this CD. The exemplary guitar playing brings forth much of the flavour of this watery blob that has occupied so much of our history. We suppose one could call this contemporary folk music in the strictest sense of the word. The moods and associations are all here. We thought "Dune" (track 8), which is chock-a-block with subtle melody, remarkable. On the other hand, the longer you listen to the CD as a whole, the more melody is revealed. This not a Jazz recording, but we found it nevertheless irresistible. As Duke said "There are only two kinds of music...!" Quite enchanting. By Lawrence Brazier, Jazz Now The Jazz World Magazine Rosario is a gifted musician and composer; he can create a Mediterranean atmosphere with just a guitar. His style is something between melodious picking and rhythmic percussive playing. The general impression is aggressive and experimental, he adds a lot of influences into his tunes but it always sounds somehow rooted in the Mediterranean, yet with a unique flavour to it. He has also a "project" called United World Music "project", and he has performed with the leading Jazz musicians of Australia... It is always a pleasure to get CDs with so much emotion in solo instrumental music - Rosario can entertain with giving an insight into his (musical) soul! Christian Moll, FolkWorld (Internet site) What the audience has to say: I was there at the museum concert and it was absolutely sublime! I'm glad so many other people thought so too. Thanks for keeping me informed, N. Rosario, When I came to hear you play on Friday night, I was stagnant inside, indifferent ...but your music made me feel again...about the things I have given up in the name of complacency and blandness...suffering had blinded me from "the treasures' within...but I now know they are still there Let know when you play again so I can relive this "douleur!" A bientot M. Hi, I've just come from experiencing the magical sounds of Rosario De Marco at "Global Sounds at Sunset". His music, like his instrument, is his heart and soul, and it certainly hit a cord within me. I'd like to thank him and his band for all he offers those that are blessed to be encompassed in his Universal Language. May it spread, open, and connect the hearts and souls of many. I ask for more information about Rosario and his upcoming performances, and that this may be passed on directly to the Artists. Intuition led me to his performance.... And the gift he gave me was Intuition the album. Thanks again, A. For more info please refer to the following URL www.RosarioDeMarco.com
