Dave Rolfe and Kevin Arnold met in 1999 at the Unicorn Folk Club on the Shropshire-Staffordshire border. Dave was playing as a member of the Unicorn Band and was quick to add accompaniment to Kevin's vocals, when he stood up to perform a solo spot. Dave's guitar style easily merged with Kevin's vocal talents and rhythm playing to produce a natural mellow sound which is a key feature of their music. Take Two was formed in June 1999 and began gigging later that year. They featured at a number of local events, played at the Folk Club every Friday night and started touring other folk clubs and festivals. They produced 3 CDs and were enjoying some success when Kevin's move to the hills of Wales caused the pair to put everything on hold for a while. But now they're back! With Kevin living in Cumbria and Dave in Shropshire, the "English Folk Duo" is once again fully English and fully functional. Kevin and Dave play a wide and varied range of material from traditional English folk to contemporary songs. Kevin is a talented songwriter and Take Two perform their own material.
