简介
Natasha Miller, the San Francisco Bay Area based vocalist shows her strength in her latest offering, "Talk to Me Nice". The CD is full of great standards as well a couple surprises with 2 original tunes ( a ballad, "My Sleep, and a blues tune, "You're My Man"). Natasha's band is hot... and made up with the most top-notch jazz talent in the Bay Area including Michael Bluestein, Mark Little, (piano), Jon Evans and Peter Barshay (upright bass). The piano, bass, drums combo is occasionally (and only in the right places) joined by fugalhorn, trumpet and tenor sax. The arrangements are hip and punchy and make plenty of room for Natasha's soulful, clear voice. Selections from The Alameda Sun- Julia Park 11/02 "Miller gives each number a signature twist, whether in tempo or inflection, to make it her own." "Miller's tone is saucy yet intimate. She shines in the cuts, "Day by Day and "Good Morning Heartache". "You're My Man" is a foot-stoming, hip-grinding, out-and-out bluesy number. Natasha fills the cool spaces in your heart with the warmth of her voice." Customer Review: ~ Peel Open This CD ~, December 19, 2002 Call these tunes standards if you must, but there's nothing standard about the way Miller brings these jazz treasures. Natasha spins sassy funk on "Sugar", "Fever" and opening track "Peel Me a Grape". She's brilliantly expressive on "Good Morning Heartache" and original track "My Sleep". All the way through her vocals are sparkling, soulful, superb. Worked by masterful musicians, the arrangements are classic, yet not even a tiny bit stale. Ultra-hot and über-cool, Natasha's talkin' to ya' nice, and you're missing out if you're not listening.
