简介
Kirby Krackle is a "Nerd-Rock" band from Seattle and the music of singer-songwriter Kyle Stevens. Songs about pop-culture, comic books, video games, the best in geek-culture and embracing your inner awesome. After founding and pioneering the genre in 2009, KIRBY KRACKLE (singer-songwriter Kyle Stevens) has become known as the leader in the new movement of geek-driven musical inspiration known as, "nerd-rock". Combing a high-energy rock n’ roll show with songwriting referencing pop-culture icons, comic book characters, and video games, Kirby Krackle’s name has become synonymous with meshing pop-culture themes together and powerful musicianship. In January of 2009, the band released their full-length debut, Kirby Krackle at New York Comicon and have spent the last six-years touring comic cons and geek-comunity events all over North America and Australia. A grassroots movement emerged in 2011 when thousands of Krackleheads (the KK fan base) pushed for the KK anthem “Ring Capacity” from the sophomore album, E For Everyone inspired by the DC Comics Green Lantern character, to be included on the soundtrack for the recent film adaptation. In 2011 KK released their highly anticipated third album, Super Powered Love, and composed the track “Who Watches The Watcher?”; a theme song commissioned by DISNEY/MARVEL COMICS for their viral webshow “The Watcher.” Having put out three studio albums in as many years, Kirby Krackle recorded and released Live In Seattle in 2012; a live album documenting a performance at the band's annual "Kracklefest" nerd-music event coinciding with Emerald City Comic Con. In June of 2012 the band embarked on their second tour of Australia by appearing in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne, and Brisbane for their Aussie fans. In 2013's Sounds Like You was released marking the fourth studio album from the band as well as embarking on a west coast tour in support of the album. In 2014, Kirby Krackle released their Live In Calgary EP documenting their historic opening arena touring slot with Weird Al Yankovic and their cover of "Everything Is Awesome!" in tribute to the band's love of LEGO: The Movie . Geekiest Hits: Vol. 1 was released in mid-2014 as a 20-song omnibus collection of fan favorites. In 2015, Kirby Krackle releases their fifth full-length album "Mutate, Baby!" and continues their legacy as the founders and leaders of the nerd-rock movement by calling on everyone to embrace their inner awesome and MUTATE, BABY!
