简介

Recorded before a live audience in Chicago, IL. In solos and duets, Smith and O’Reilly perform a winning group of songs, and talk about life in parochial schools during their "formative" years: His –as the eldest of 6, in the working class Irish/Italian neighborhoods of post-WWII New Jersey, in the '40s, and '50s. Hers – as the 4th-girl-in-the-middle of a family of 14 kids, in a small Illinois town during the post-Vatican II, Baby-Boom era of the '60s and '70s. The folk duo of Smith & O'Reilly have four other titles on CD BABY including Pasiones: Songs of the Spanish Civil War (in six languages), The Gift of the Magi - a holiday musical, Songs of A Kerry Madwoman, and Swimming Deeper - featuring Smith's composition and guitar accompanying O'Reilly on vocals. ### From a fan: I LOVE the album, have been playing it and playing it. And I played the Sister Clarissa sequence over the phone to a friend and fellow Catholic-in-childhood. Thanks to you & Michael for putting together such wonderful work. I have been thinking about the performance I saw in Chicago--that this is a great form you are developing that includes narrative as well as music AND regular places where the audience can participate by singing too. You leap over the barrier of the stage and let us be there too. So wonderful. - Zoe (writer), Sacramento, CA
