Life Lessons is more than just a children’s music album, it is a story told from a caring father, Archie, to his toddler son, Jacob - A and J. Along their journey, A and J encounter many whimsical characters who later become their animated members of the band. Enjoyable for all ages, parents will enjoy rockin’ out with their kids, who will jump up and dance to the acoustic rock, rockabilly, rocky top, blues and ska inspired songs. The fun, quirky tunes of AJ and the Flip Flops are interactive learning experiences teaching children lessons through song, incorporating reading, as in the song “ABC’S,” math (“Plus One”), ambition (“Anything that I want to be”), and manners (“Magic Words”). The songs “Dance, Dance, Dance,” and “Shakey Shakey” are participation numbers that encourage large motor skills with upbeat and playful lyrics kids can’t help but want to move to! Even the silliest of the tracks, “Boogers and Smiley Faces,” still teaches kids what they should do with the icky-stickies. All of the songs are original with the exception of the fast-paced rocky-top rendition of the classic “Hole in the Bucket” – kids won’t stay in their seat on this one! Life Lessons is a record young ones and adults can enjoy together, at home, in the car, at play dates, parties and even the park! Even after listening many times, the album is still entertaining (and educational, just don’t tell the kids!).
