简介
Rich Coleman is the founder and leader of the Washtenaw Knights a crime and drug prevention musical group formed in 1991, the first performance was during a countywide "National Night Out" event. The bands concept continued to evolve with its first CD released in 1998 entitled "Let's Give them HOPE". The songs have received critical review and recommended for listening by "Drug Abuse Update Magazine"(winter '98). The song "Youth to Youth I'm Drug Free" from the release received a "Certificate of Achievement in the 1994 International Bill Board Song Contest." In 1999, "We are CommUnity: America Stand for What is Right" was released. This song was written and recorded as a tribute to the fallen Fire Fighters, Police and emergency personnel of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. This national release proceeds are all dedicated to the relief efforts to help the families. The Community Anti-Drug Coalition of America (CADCA) and the Multijurisdictional Counter Drug Task Force of Florida used the Washtenaw Knight's music for their International satellite prevention programs. The media and community groups have consistently sought out Mr. Coleman across the country as a music consultant and speaker. Mr. Coleman is also working with the music industry and participating with others in studying the impact of negative music on youth and communities. In April of 1998 the International Musician’s Magazine article, "Giving Kids Hope: One Musicians Positive Rap" challenged musicians around the world to support a resolution addressing violence and drugs in music and to get involved in their communities by providing positive musical messages of hope. "Tender Flower" is one of my personal favorite songs, it was written for my wife who is my best friend and the person I'll love for ever. We lost our first child and we went through so much pain and feeling of being lost and looking for something/someone to blame, but we knew it was in God's hands. One day while shopping, I saw a bouquet of flowers that just drew me in that I couldn't get away from, I had to get them for her and the lyrics just poured from my soul. I hope you enjoy the song as much as I had singing and recording it with the great track from Steve Trigg my little bro!.
