Johnny Eubanks is a very talented contemporary R&B/Pop artist, song writer, and producer. Originally from metro Detroit, he now resides in Lansing, MI where he has been dubbed “Big Smooth” , and “Detroit’s Finest” for his smooth voice, catchy tunes and dancing performance that leaves audiences raving and wanting more. Johnny is a born talent with music in his blood. With relatives such as Florence Ballard of “The Supremes”, Kevin Eubanks of the “Jay Leno Tonight Show Band” and Lathun Grady a former artist for So So Def. and Universal/Motown, it was natural for Johnny to gravitate towards music. Being from Detroit, Johnny got his roots by studying all the greats such as Motown heroes Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, and The Temptations. He also credits Ray Charles, Prince, Usher, R.Kelly, Boys 2 Men, Akon, Nate Dogg, and Justin Timberlake as other influences in his music. While growing up, Johnny engulfed himself in music. He was a member of several traveling school and church choirs. He also sang and acted in several plays and musicals. During his high school and early college years, Johnny worked for Palace Sports & Entertainment which owns 3 major entertainment venues in the Detroit area. While working there Johnny got the privilege of not only watching several great musical acts through the years, but occasionally getting to meet with artists back stage after concerts or during sound check. While there he not only received an amazing opportunity to sing with the legendary singer Smokey Robinson during a sound check, he also got an opportunity to sing with another legend Martha Reeves of “Martha and the Vandellas”. After being told by both Smokey and Martha that he had a great voice and that he could make it one day, Johnny received his validation! While attending Michigan State University, Johnny teamed up with his cousin Lathun Grady of So So Def./Universal/Motown to improve and develop his unique sound. He studied telecommunications specializing in music business and audio production. Johnny was also chosen for a summer internship at the historic United sounds recording studio in Detroit around the corner from the world famous Motown Hitsville USA building. There Johnny received an opportunity to work with the late D12 rapper Proof and his Iron Fist label. Johnny Eubanks since that time has performed, written, and recorded several songs. He has done several performances for Michigan State University and has been on such shows as American Idol and The X-factor. He has opened up for artists such as Lathun Grady, and Terrance Parker. He has performed at such venues as the historic Fisher Theatre, DTE Energy Music Theatre (Pine Knob) and others. Johnny’s musical style is unique. He can sing and woo the ladies or be hype and pump up the fellas, which is why he has such a broad fan base. He has what you want in a performer: Great voice, great personality and dancing which all seem to shine together in his performances. He’s confident, professional, and an overall class act. Johnny recently released his debut mixtape “Success is the Only Option.” A motto he lives by. You can tell in his music and performances that he truly believes just that.
