Typhus is a US born, Joburg based South African indie hip hop artist. Prior well known singles by Typh, include “Summa Tym”, “I’m that Boy” and most recently “Best Life” featuring AB Crazy, Blaklez and DJ Sabby. Biography Typhus (pronounced ‘tai-fis’) aka Hulio Armundo or Typhamazing born in the mid-late 80’s in Georgetown Washington DC, USA is a solo hip hop artist based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Raised in Eldorado Park township, south of Joburg, Typhus is an entertainer and recording artist with the, self-founded, independent movement Home B-Aced Entertainment. Best known for his extensive vocabulary and creative word play, Typhus is described as a thought provoking musician, with catchy hooks and an uncanny ability to paint pictures with his words. He views himself as more than a rapper, but rather as an artist, a skilled lyricist with an unmatched drive and love for music. Typhus boasts a number of recognisable singles, and chart hits. The release of his debut album, “The Mind Speaks Volumes”, and specifically his hit single off that album “Summa tym” announced Typhus’ arrival on the SA music scene. Before the release of his debut album, Typhus’ prior works include a demo EP, called “The Epidemic has hit” released in 2003, the 2005 unreleased mixtape titled “The Mind is Eye: bootleg EP”, as well as contributing to the 2004 Midrand hip hop compilation album “Midtapes volume 1”.
