简介
April’s songs have been placed in primetime network television, cable television, advertising, physical and online radio, as institutional themes, and indie recordings. April has performed as a soloist and band artist on cable and national television programs, as well as various live stages in New York City, Los Angeles and Nashville. After performing as an acoustic soloist for several years, April formed an original power pop/rock band, in her name, in New York City, releasing an album titled “Dancin’ Thru The Mine Fields," co-produced by DANIEL WISE (Joan Osborne, Scissor Sisters, Maceo Parker). April's band performed in all the major NYC rock clubs. Her next release was a solo album of original adult contemporary songs titled “Watercolors Fade," which she co-produced with STEVE SKINNER (Rent, Celine Dion, Jewel), and which title cut was recently chosen as a featured single on the popular reality TV show Dance Mom’s and its accompanying soundtrack. April's 2010 self-produced pop/rock/adult album release "Unpainting Portraits" is a collection of personal, yet commercially-viable, emotionally-charged original songs which achieved several placements in network and cable TV. 2013 brings in April’s newest release "Forever's Not Long Enough” EP produced by hit writer/arranger/producer/conductor KATHY SOMMER (Halestorm, Shinedown, Daughtry, and more) assisted by accomplished guitarist/engineer MATT ANTHONY, which is a collection of contemporary and radio-worthy uplifting songs of love and self-empowerment. As an artist, April’s high-octane range-driven vocal performances have been characterized as “powerful, yet vulnerable," and likened to Ann Wilson of Heart, Kelly Clarkson, and Paula Cole, by industry professionals and peers. Her strong vocal performances coupled with the emotional, heartfelt, and commercial yet indie-based elements of her style of music and lyrics, reminiscent of Christina Perri, Sara Bareilles, and Kelly Clarkson, is elegant, intimate and empowering. As a composer and lyricist, April was honored in New York City with an Abe Oleman Scholarship from the National Academy of Popular Music and BMI, and has written with several top hit songwriters in pop and country. April’s vision of writing songs with a universal message of living authentically and honoring oneself and others has remained unshakable over the years. April’s songs are currently airing on network and cable TV, online radio, and in European retail and have been charted in the top 10 on SoundClick.com and Women Of Substance Radio on Live365.com. April continues to write and shop material to radio and film/TV projects internationally. www.soundclick.com\AprilHiguera
