THE TZAR MUSIC was founded and incorporated in 2006 as Echopulse Productions. The name, Echopulse was later changed to what is now known as THE TZAR MUSIC. The company started trading officially in 2008 as an informal recording studio for local talent in the Olifantsfontein/Clayville area, East of Johannesburg. A year later THE TZAR MUSIC released its first project, titled Mindworx EP by Smug however the release proved to be unsuccessful. Label Head, Gauta Lenake decided to temporarily close shop for a period of two and a half years in order to research and improve his production and music business skills. Five years later, the label releases its first series of sampler/EP; this offering featuring young and promising talent from South Africa definitely proves that THE TZAR MUSIC is here to stay!
