Domenico Protino is a singer/songwriter from south of Italy. He approaches music from an early age but it will only be in the year 2000 that he will choose it professionally. Since then he will take every opportunity to perform live, he participates in many national singing competitions that will allow him to become increasingly familiar and confident with the important “Italian Stages” up until he gets to win the Prestigious Prize “Premio Lunezia” in 2007 with a beautiful song called "W la vita" This award, which mainly focuses on the importance of the musical-literacy of Italian songs, led to other important events, and larger audiences across Italy such as the “Premio Mia Martini”, “Solarolo Song Festival”, and the “Premio Bindi”. In the summer 2007, Domenico also wins another Regional Prize called “Premio Salentino” with the song "La Nuova Aurora" In 2008 he was selected as the Italian representative for the 49th edition of the most important musical event in Latin America, “The International Song Festival of “Viña del Mar” in Chile, a similar event like “the “Eurovision song contest” in Europe; Domenico wins the festival “Viña del Mar” for Italy with the song "La Guerra dei trent’anni" and also wins as best author and interpreter of the winning song, winning on the occasion two of the famous trophy called “Gaviotas de plata". In September 2008, his first album “DOMENICO PROTINO” is released in Italy under the “WARNER CHAPELL ITALIA” Label with 10 new original songs written by Domenico and produced by Maurizio Dinelli & Beppe Carletti, members of the famous Italian band called “I Nomadi”. The album is also recorded in Spanish language. Since 2009 he has been busy also writing songs as an author for other Italian and foreign artists, and toured extensively all over Italy & Latin America to promote his first Album, he was also invited again to participate to “The International Song Festival of Viña del Mar” 50th edition which sees competing the last 9 years winners. In 2010 he releases a brand new single and a promotional video titled “GIORNO FARA’” available in all of the digital platforms. In 2011 / 2012 he starts writing new material and working on his second “self-produced” album, and also simultaneously started writing new songs for his “English Debut Album” In May 2013 he releases a new single "L’UOMO PER TE" accompanied by a video, currently still played in most independent Italian radio stations all over Italy and put the “finishes touches” to his second Album which will be released at the end of the year. On the 8th of December 2013 sees the release of his second totally self-penned and self-produced new album called “L’ALBUM PER TE” which includes 13 new tracks (12 in Italian and also 1 track in Spanish). At the beginning of 2014 he is also very busy promoting his new Album and continue to work with London based songwriter “Sandro Nardi” on his English debut album. 2015 starts with the selection and participation of Domenico Protino and his song "Let me fly" at the Eurovision Song Contest Moldova. "Let me fly". written together with Sandro Nardi, is now available worldwide on all digital music stores.
