简介
Mick McAuley hails from the Irish Marble City of Kilkenny and has recorded and toured internationally for many years with Irish-American super-group Solas. As an accordionist and singer, he is in much demand on the music scene today and more recently spent time playing melodeon and accordions for Sting in his Broadway Musical Production of The Last Ship. Mick is also an accomplished songwriter and composer and wrote and co-wrote many of the songs on the Solas’ emigration project Shamrock City which has received widespread acclaim. This Spring sees the much-anticipated release of his second solo album of Irish traditional songs and tunes entitled Highs and Bellows. His debut solo album An Ocean’s Breadth was hailed by the Washington Post as “Celtic album of the year”. Colm O Caoimh from Kilkenny, Ireland is one of the most dynamic and unique guitarists on the Irish music scene today. He was a founding member of Irish traditional group Caladh Nua and currently plays with the legendary fiddle player Frankie Gavin and De Dannan. A fluent Irish speaker, Colm draws on a deep understanding of the Irish culture to adopt a truly innovative approach to this centuries-old musical tradition. Colm is the guitarist on the new album Highs and Bellows with Mick McAuley. "Highs and Bellow is an acoustic album of mostly traditional Irish tunes and songs. We wanted to play and sing without overthinking the process and to capture a live, spontaneous snapshot in time. Hopefully that sense of playfulness can be felt in the energy of the music." says McAuley.
