About the musicians and production: Tara Louise - Vocals – Tara is singer and songwriter from Los Angeles. She’s proven to be versatile from a young age - by the age of 15 she had written more songs than The Beatles. Tara released her debut EP Mainstream (written and produced by Tara and mixed and mastered by Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer Cassidy Turbin) in December 2014. Her debut video with Postmodern Jukebox as a cover of NSYNC’s Bye Bye Bye in a 1960s Pulp Fiction surf rock style can be found on YouTube with over two million views. Geoff Aymar – Piano – Geoff has had a niche in the Los Angeles jazz scene including performing for royalty and Hollywood elite including Prince Andrew and Elizabeth Taylor, playing for many years at the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel, both solo and with his jazz trio. He has also released several compositions and recordings including the satirical song, Me, sung by Meryl Streep in the opening of Death Becomes Her. Other releases include music in the television series Damages and Gene Simmons Family Jewels and in the films From Prada to Nada and Timer. Lon Price – Saxophone – Lon started playing music at age ten and has been playing professionally since the age of fifteen. He studied jazz at the University of North Texas and was a featured saxophone soloist and composer and arranger with the One O'clock Lab Band. Soon afterward, he performed with Elvis Presley on the Texas leg of his concert tour. Lon has also toured with Tom Jones and has performed with numerous artists including Barbra Streisand, Elton John, and Rod Stewart. He has recorded sax solos for two number-one hits – We’re In This Love Together with Al Jarreau and At This Moment with Billy Vera and the Beaters. More recently he has worked with Grammy Award-winning artist, Pink. He has played in the New Orleans and Los Angeles jazz scenes for many years. In 2011, he recorded an album of big band jazz at Capitol Records with The Billy Vera Big Band. Lon has also written several jazz and orchestral compositions including Variations For Orchestra, performed by the University of Southern California Symphony. Recently, he began recording his first solo jazz album. Dennis Kao – Bass – Dennis played a variety of musical instruments in his early youth. Eventually, he focused on studying and playing bass. He has performed with a wide of variety of bands and musical groups in Los Angeles. His instinctive exemplary playing has made him a natural fit for Apollo RSVP. Dennis has also been a policy and civil rights advocate and has a career in social research, and since completing his PhD at the University of Southern California, has become an Assistant Professor at the University of Houston, Graduate College of Social Work, specializing in health care disparities, immigrant populations, older adults, social policy, and geographic information science. Daniel Glass – Drums – Daniel is an award-winning drummer, author, historian and educator. He is widely recognized as an authority on classic American drumming and the evolution of American Popular Music. He grew up in Honolulu and started playing drums at age eight. He studied at Brandeis University in Boston and then at The Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles before becoming a freelance musician. For two decades, he was a member of the swing group, Royal Crown Revue, appearing in the films The Mask and Swingers and the television series Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Conan O’Brien, The Today Show, and The Roseanne Show and heard in the films Something’s Gotta Give and The Cat in the Hat. Daniel has recorded and performed all over the world with many artists including Brian Setzer, Bette Midler, Liza Minnelli, and Gene Simmons and has been on tour with The B-52s, The Pretenders, and KISS. Daniel has been voted one of the top five R&B drummers in the world by readers of the magazines DRUM! and Modern Drummer. Frank Padilla – Congas and Percussion – Frank is a talented and tasteful Latin-style percussionist who grew up in Los Angeles with a passion for great music. He has had many years of experience performing and recording in a variety of genres. Frank often performs with the Los Angeles jazz band 2NZ (‘Tunes’) with composer John Gonzalez. John Gonzalez – Composition and Arrangement – John Gonzalez grew up learning to play many different musical instruments including accordion, baritone horn, trombone, French horn, bass, and keyboard. He played in various bands and toured with a jazz ensemble, and as opportunities were presented, he eventually began composing and recording original music. He has scored over 50 films as well as several animation series including The Ren & Stimpy Show and a variety of visual media. Peter Fivas – Lyrics, Arrangement, and Production – Peter grew up playing clarinet and saxophone and singing in the choir. He is now a mathematician and songwriter who, over many years, developed a fresh fine-tuned mathematical model of music. For much of that time, he worked with the late composer and keyboardist, Robert Jetter, who, early in his career, had toured with the late Jack Ely and his hit song, Louie, Louie. Peter and Robert became a prolific songwriting team and performed as the duo, Fivas & Jetter. The Night Is Young was written, performed, and produced according to Peter’s model and is his music production debut. He is currently working on his first literary publication. John Rodd – Mixing and Mastering – As a freelance engineer, John Rodd records, mixes and masters music, working on everything from major studio feature films (Elysium) to indie films (In the Beginning), television (Breaking Bad), video game projects (Call of Duty: Black Ops II), and for numerous compilations and soundtrack recordings. He was recently nominated for a BAFTA Award (British Academy Award) for the popular video game, EA Star Wars: Battlefront. John Rodd’s love of the alchemy between music, art, and technology initially led him to film school in his native Canada, where he continued experimenting with music mixing, sampling and synthesis. After university he worked at a recording studio in Canada where he worked with film composers including Howard Shore, John Debney, and Angelo Badalamenti. Eventually relocating to Los Angeles, he worked with artists including Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Madonna, and members of The Rolling Stones and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. Soon thereafter, he became the orchestral scoring recordist at 20th Century Fox's Newman Scoring Stage on such films as I, Robot, The Last Samurai, Spider-Man 2, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Matrix (trilogy), Cast Away, X-2, Jurassic Park III, The Bourne Identity, Road to Perdition and The Sixth Sense before going freelance in 2004. George Fivas – Production – George is an independent film producer who has worked with numerous actors and artists including the late Academy Award-nominated actress, Karen Black. He makes his music production debut with The Night Is Young.
