Biography Heavy/ thrash metal band Fire For Effect was formed in the summer of 2005 in Boston, Massachusetts as a five piece. Though originally labeled as thrash, Fire For Effect has developed into a chameleon-like band fusing together influences of thrash, death, and straight hard rock, influenced by bands like Pantera, Slayer, Morbid Angel, Zakk Wylde, Exodus, and Meshuggah. The Band was comprised of Luke Kimball on vocals, Josh Johnson and Matt Allison on guitar, Michael Lombardi on bass, and Joe Pelletier on Drums. Most of the members at the time were still currently college students and were already in a rush to release recorded material. Practicing for only a month Fire For Effect recorded a self-produced nine song CD. The recording was raw but the music still stood out to listeners and critics. The band received accolades from CD reviewers Matt Hoffman (HardRockHaven.net), Italian critic Markus Ganzherrlich (RockMetalBands.com), Chris Forbes (BallBusterHardMusic.com) and were compared to such bands as Pantera and Slayer. Reviews from other sites SeedsofEvil.com, Kissthis.com, and TranscendingtheMundane.com also had positive feedback on the debut of the young Fire For Effect. While the reviews and feedback were coming in, Fire For Effect was gigging in and around Boston. The first shows forced the band to tighten up and proved how charismatic Luke Kimball was as a front man. Fire For Effect gained the reputation of a band with a heavy energetic set and a large unruly following. In a few months the band shared the stage with metal band Kittie at Mark’s Showplace in New Hampshire. In the summer of 2006, Fire For Effect started on new material that would be leaps and bounds above their last effort. While practicing their new set, the band lost guitarist Matt Allison due to personal problems and new guitarist Rian Connell joined. In November 2006 Fire For Effect entered the Emergenza Festival’s international battle of the bands and made it through four rounds into the Boston final. Fire For Effect’s newest release Inner Dimensional Chaos is a fifteen song; eighty minute recording that shows their ambition and versatility as a metal band. Lead Guitarist Josh Johnson (Music Production and Engineering Graduate from Berklee College of Music and guitar student of shred legend Joe Stump) produced, engineered, and mixed the album at his American Overdrive Studio. Inner Dimensional Chaos is an extremely strong effort that offers something to every variety of metal fan that enjoys thrash, death, heavy groove, ripping leads, well thought out lyrics, and atmosphere cohesively joined in an eighty minute crisp and dynamic recording of twists and turns.
