简介
This six song album encompasses original compositions from the past few years, which included big changes in work, school, locations, and relationships. Musically, the project borrows from folk, indie rock, and chamber pop. In addition to originals, I'm excited to be recording a song by former Mainer Matthew Troxel called "Shame on Me". It's never been released, but I fell in love with a simple cover of it in high school and am eager for it to see the light of day. My last recording project was in 2011, as one half of The Bull and the Bear. Our album, Recession Sessions, featured songs about the economic environment of the previous few years, pioneered the genre of "financial folk" and got some attention from the likes of NPR's Morning Edition and Freakonomics. NPR's Renée Montagne had this to say about it: “In every generation, every era, there are songs that reflect or define the time, as could be said of the new album, Recession Sessions.” Wasn't that nice of her? Take a listen!
