简介
Right after the recent horrification of the Orlando Massacre, we're forced to come to terms with the blatant dehumanization of African American Men in America, and the fact that the recent death of Alton Sterling marked the 114th black man to be wrongfully killed by a policeman in the year 2016 alone. His murder brings back the memories of old wounds, such as the murder of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Freddie Gray, Eric Garner and sadly hundreds of other black men whose lives were wrongfully cut short by law enforcement. For our elders, I'm sure this recent tragedy brought back memories of the tragedies of Emmet Till, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, Rosa Parks, or anyone else that was either lynched, murdered, or mistreated by the hands of an oppressor. And sadly, once again, we, as a people of African Descent, have to fight and prove to the world that Black lives matter! And as a result, we, as a people of color—a people of a great and profound history, are hurting! And although we are fighting for the cause, within our sadness and our madness, there's a wave a doubt that sweeps over our souls and poses the question: "Freedom, where are you?" God, are you still sitting high and looking low? God where are you? As these questions enter your mind, or as you begin to form feelings of doubt, please remember that now is not the time to to act crazy and give up on God! But, Now is the time for the people of God who claim they trust him, to think sensibly and stand up for righteousness. Through my music, I hope to inspire the fight to gain peace, love, togetherness, and equality! I really believe that "Someday, we'll all be free..!"
